Paul T. Tusch is chairman of the Family Law practice group at Cacace, Tusch & Santagata. The Group consists of four attorneys and two legal assistants, each of whom devotes up to 100% of his or her time to the practice of family law. The Group prides itself as a team of high-caliber professionals who are hardworking, dedicated and sensitive to the needs of their clients.
Mr. Tusch is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers™. The AAML was founded in 1962 with the stated goal of providing “leadership that promotes the highest degree of professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law.” The requirements for acceptance as a Fellow are rigorous, and include the submission of a lengthy application, obtaining references from attorneys and judges, passing national and state specific tests, and going through an interview process. There are approximately 1,650 Fellows in the 50 states.
Mr. Tusch has achieved an AV rating from his peers as reported in Martindale-Hubbell®. The AV rating is awarded to those attorneys whose peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence. Mr. Tusch has also been recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyer®, as reported in Connecticut Magazine, since 2006. The Super Lawyer designation is the result of a survey conducted of approximately 13,000 active Connecticut lawyers, culminating in the selection of the top 5% in the state.
Mr. Tusch has served on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Section, including one term as Section Chair. He lectures regularly for the Connecticut Bar Association and other organizations on topics related to family law. He has served as a Special Master in family courts throughout the state, including those in Stamford and Bridgeport, as well as at the Regional Family Trial Court in Middletown. He has completed the mandatory training required by the State of Connecticut to serve as a Guardian ad Litem and as an attorney for minor children in Connecticut courts.
